ITINERARY:
Day 1: 26km Morning tea included on route. BYO breakfast and lunch. Option to buy dinner or BYO. Cooroy to Kin Kin Register at Cooroy Butter Factory. Buses take you to the start at Lake MacDonald. Pop-Up Tea House checkpoint at Simpsons Road (approx. half way). This is the designated bailout point for the shuttle bus if you need to stop early. You may need to wait as buses depart at specified times. OR continue the walk to finish in Kin Kin. Set up camp or await bus back to Cooroy from approx 3pm. You may need to wait as buses depart at specified times. Purchase dinner in Kin Kin. 2 water stops along route. Day 2: 24km Breakfast, fruit and Lunch included. BYO dinner or purchase in Cooran. Kin Kin to Cooran - 18 km to checkpoint at James McKane Lookout: designated bailout point for shuttle bus. You may need to wait as buses depart at specified times. Purchase dinner in Cooran. Bus back to Kin Kin or Cooroy from 3pm if not camping. Purchase dinner in Cooran. Day 3: 10km Breakfast included. Purchase lunch in Pomona. Cooran to Pomona - 10 km to Pomona Old Railway Station Art Gallery: designated point for shuttle bus to Cooroy. Optional climb to the summit of Mt Cooroora. Please note this is not part of the event and is at your own risk if you choose to do so. (Allow approx. 2 hours return extra time for the climb.) Finish celebration at Pomona Distilling Co. 18 Reserve St. Purchase lunch and reminisce over the journey. Collect your luggage by 1pm at Old Railway Station Art Gallery: 10 Station St. Designated point for luggage collection and shuttle bus back to Cooroy from 1pm. |

Walkers are encouraged to self-cater or purchase their meals in the towns of Kin Kin and Cooran where various options are available. Supplied catering has limited capacity to cater for walkers with specific dietary requirements. You are advised to bring additional items to supplement.
Children are not able to undertake the walk due to insurance limitations.
1 DAY WALK EVENT INCLUSIONS:
This ticket gives you access to Walk Day 1 (Saturday) from Cooroy to Cooran, and includes:
The shuttle buses that return the 1 Day walkers and those not camping to Cooroy, do so late afternoon, so if you are a fast walker and are not keen to wait, please either organize your own transfer back, or relax and enjoy a lazy afternoon. Please note the bus returns you to Cooroy town where you registered, and NOT to the Lake McDonald.
3 DAY EVENT TICKET:
- Registration and support from volunteer Trail Guides
- Shuttle Bus to transport walkers at specified times
- Luggage transfers for those camping at designated camp grounds
- Camping fees each night
- Afternoon tea - slice of cake and tea at our pop up tea house on Day 1
- Breakfast on Day 2 and Day 3
- Lunch on Day 2
- Event bandana
The price does not include:
- Breakfast on Day 1
- Lunch on Day 1 and Day 3
- Any Dinners or refreshments
- Any additional transport you require. Please note taxis/ubers are very limited out in the country so do not rely on them.

- Shuttle bus to the start at Lake McDonald, and a shuttle bus back to Cooroy from 3pm onwards at the end of the day.
- Event bandana and all the pre-event information
- Registration and support from volunteer trail guides on the day
- Afternoon tea - slice of cake and tea at our pop up tea house, plus water stop
The shuttle buses that return the 1 Day walkers and those not camping to Cooroy, do so late afternoon, so if you are a fast walker and are not keen to wait, please either organize your own transfer back, or relax and enjoy a lazy afternoon. Please note the bus returns you to Cooroy town where you registered, and NOT to the Lake McDonald.
Refunds, cancellations and transfers
You may cancel your registration any time up to 3 months before the event. You will be refunded the entry fee less a $25 admin fee to process the refund. The original ticket processing fees paid on entry, are non- refundable.
If you wish to cancel your registration within 3 months of the event, you will be refunded 50% of the original ticket price. A processing and admin fee of $25 is deducted from the refund. The original processing fees paid on entry are non-refundable.
Within 2 months of the event, our registration fees are non-refundable as many of the costs and fees are preparatory and are incurred from before you register and prior to the event commencing.
Transfers:
If you do, sadly, need to withdraw, your registration can be transferred over to a new walker who replaces you, providing it is prior to 2 weeks before the event - but it is up to you to find a replacement. No transfers can be processed within 2 weeks of the event.
Transfers of your registration to a new person incurs a $25 administration fee paid by the new registrant. Please login to your registration and follow the steps to making a transfer to a new walker taking over your place.
Please note that processing fees are non-refundable.
Transferring between events:
In order to manage catering, bus shuttle services etc we ask that you do not change between event types. However, in extenuating circumstances we may enable this if possible, but only prior to 2 weeks before the event. There is a limit to how many swaps we can make between the 1 Day and 3 Day events so we cannot guarantee this is possible.
Event cancellation:
Should the event have to be cancelled prior to starting, due to extreme weather, fire warnings, government lockdowns or other forces outside of the organisers control that deem it unsafe to proceed with the event, you will be given the option to have a refund less a $25 admin fee and the original processing fees, or to transfer to an alternate date offered for the event. Should the event have to be cancelled after it has started, due to unforeseen circumstances outside of the organisers control, there are no refunds or transfers as all costs are already incurred.
Weather and Fire
The walk will continue in wet weather so bring a rain coat! You can always catch the shuttle bus and cosy up in a local cafe. Be prepared for ALL weather conditions, and carry basic first aid and layers of wicking clothing. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, postpone or adjust the event based on extreme weather or fire danger.
Waiver / Release
Please read the Risk Waiver as you are asked to accept it when you register and pay for your ticket.
COVID:
We’ve adopted measures to create a safe, healthy environment for you, including:
Stay at home if unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.
Maintain physical distancing requirements while in attendance.
You may cancel your registration any time up to 3 months before the event. You will be refunded the entry fee less a $25 admin fee to process the refund. The original ticket processing fees paid on entry, are non- refundable.
