Event Terms & Conditions

By registering for The Great Noosa Trail Walk, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These ensure the safety, fairness, and enjoyment of all participants, volunteers, and the communities that make this event possible.

General Conditions

The Great Noosa Trail Walk is a non-competitive, community walking event coordinated by Trail Trekkers Inc.

All participants must register online and agree to these Terms & Conditions before taking part.

Minimum age for participation is 16 years, unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

You must wear your event wristband or identification during the event for safety and coordination purposes.

Health, Fitness & Safety

Participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit and prepared for the walk.

Please consult your doctor before registering if you have any medical concerns.

You must carry your own day pack, water, snake bandage, emergency blanket and personal medication at all times.

Our volunteer Trail Guides and event team are there to support you — please follow their directions.

Emergency support and communication systems are in place, but you must take care for your own wellbeing and safety while on the trail.

In case of injury or illness, the event team reserves the right to withdraw any participant from the walk.

Event Conduct

We walk with respect — for nature, each other, and the local communities who host us.

Participants agree to:

  • Stay on the designated trail at all times.

  • Respect private property and community facilities.

  • Take all rubbish with you or use designated waste stations.

  • Be courteous to other walkers, volunteers, and locals.

  • Avoid loud noise, offensive behaviour, or conduct that could endanger others.

  • Follow instructions from Trail Trekkers volunteers and emergency services if required.

Trail Trekkers reserve the right to remove any participant who fails to follow these guidelines.

Environmental Responsibility

The Great Noosa Trail Walk takes place on shared trails and through environmentally sensitive areas.

Please:

  • Carry reusable bottles, cups, and utensils to minimise waste.

  • Avoid single-use plastics where possible.

  • Leave no trace — take only photos, leave only footprints.

Our aim is to protect and celebrate the Noosa Hinterland so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Luggage & Personal Belongings

Luggage transfers are provided for three-day participants only.

Trail Trekkers takes no responsibility for lost or damaged items, including luggage, camping gear, or personal belongings.

Please ensure your luggage is clearly labelled and within the weight limits advised before the event.

Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers

Please refer to the Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers section above for full details.

In summary:

  • Refunds and transfers are available under specific timeframes and conditions.

  • Processing fees are non-refundable.

  • In the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered a credit or partial refund as outlined in our policy.

Photography & Media Consent

By participating in the event, you consent to the use of photographs and video footage taken during the walk for promotional or archival purposes by Trail Trekkers.

If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify event staff at registration.

Weather & Trail Conditions

The event will proceed in most weather conditions, provided it is safe to do so.

Trail Trekkers may:

  • Alter the route or itinerary in response to severe weather, trail closures, or safety concerns.

  • Postpone or cancel the event if conditions pose a significant risk to participants.

Updates will be communicated via email, SMS, and the event website.

Liability & Acknowledgment of Risk

By registering, participants acknowledge that:

  • Walking long distances in natural environments involves inherent risks, including slips, trips, and environmental hazards.

  • They accept personal responsibility for their own safety and participation.

  • Trail Trekkers Inc. and associated volunteers, sponsors, and partners are not liable for injury, loss, or damage sustained during participation, except where required by law.

All participants must sign the waiver contained within the online registration form prior to taking part.
